WC10 Abstract Submission Deadline Extended to July 31

A note from the Congress:

We are sending this time sensitive invitation to invite you attend the 10th World Congress in Alternatives to be held in Seattle WA on August 20-24, 2017. A fantastic scientific program has been developed and is now available on the website. Over 68 sessions on 9 themes have been addressed within our overall Congress theme of “The Three Rs in Action.”

In celebration of 10 years of progress since the first NAS report- Toxicity Testing in the 21st Century—A Vision and a Strategy” the Congress will highlight key advances in reducing animal use by both plenary speakers and presentations. Information gained from human cell cultures and use of cell signaling pathway analysis, big data, data mining and modeling will be shared as will new innovations on 3-D culture methods, organ-on-a -chip and microfluidic systems. Other themes will focus on new approaches for refinement where non-animal alternatives are not yet available and will discuss advances in pain assessment and alleviation, animal husbandry and environmental enrichment. The sessions include discussions on how to promote behavioral interventions to improve animal welfare. Educational opportunities for both scientists and the public will be formally presented.

Starting and ending each day of the Congress we have world-renowned scientists to provide the plenary talks on cutting edge insights and opportunities for the attendees.

Roundtable discussion are also planned where lessons learned across the globe about implementation and next steps (including calls for more funding and increased opportunities for implementation). These forums provide additional insights into future directions for the 3Rs and will allow for participant interactions.

Over 350 posters have been accepted and can be viewed throughout the Congress. During the lunch hour we will have sponsored sessions on a variety of technologies ready for application.

We have added a 10-day window for late breaking abstracts to still be submitted. This opportunity will close on July 31st. Please review the abstract instructions before submitting.
