Funding Opportunity for Alternative Methods Development
Catherine Sprankle, NICEATM
The National Toxicology Program Interagency Center for the Evaluation of Alternative Methods (NICEATM) encourages U.S. small businesses involved in alternative methods development to apply for Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) Phase IIB Awards for Validation and Commercialization of Approaches to Reduce Animal Use in Toxicology Testing offered by the National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences. These awards are intended to support the validation of promising methods that replace or reduce animal use in toxicity testing/screening and can be used to address current U.S. federal agency testing requirements. The funding announcement for the Phase IIB awards was updated on August 29; see the NICEATM website for more information. The next due date for letters of intent is October 14.
