EPA Releases ToxCast Owner’s Manual
The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) recently released its ToxCast Owner’s Manual. Since its launch in 2007, EPA’s Toxicity Forecaster (ToxCast) high throughput screening program has generated data for approximately 1,800 chemicals for more than 700 assay endpoints, making ToxCast a major contributor to the federal Tox21 collaboration. All ToxCast data is publicly available.
The Owner’s Manual provides information on how ToxCast data is generated and processed. It also provides guidance for exploring and using the data. The Owner’s Manual and links to additional information about ToxCast are available on the EPA website.
