ARDF announces 2017 Alternatives Research Grant cycle is open

The Alternatives Research & Development Foundation (ARDF), which funds and promotes alternatives to the use of laboratory animals in research, testing, and education, is currently soliciting research proposals.

• Maximum award per project: $40,000
• Deadline: May 1, 2017 (for electronic submission, request Dropbox by April 27, 2017)
• Notification of recipients: July 17, 2017

Criteria:
• Potential to significantly reduce or replace laboratory animals
• Scientific merit and feasibility

Preference for proposals that:
• Utilize in silico and in vitro methods with human cells or tissues
• Use pathway-based approaches as exemplified by the 2007 National Academy of Sciences report, Toxicity Testing in the Twenty-first Century: A Vision and A Strategy
